Voicemail Basics
Brisco Communications VoIP service includes a powerful voicemail system that allows you to receive, store, and manage messages when you're unavailable to answer calls.
Accessing Your Voicemail
There are multiple ways to access your voicemail messages:
From Your VoIP Phone
- Press the voicemail button on your phone (usually marked with an envelope icon), OR
- Dial *97 from your phone
- Enter your voicemail PIN when prompted
- Follow the voice prompts to listen to your messages
Remotely (From Another Phone)
- Dial your phone number
- When your voicemail greeting begins, press * (asterisk)
- Enter your voicemail PIN when prompted
- Follow the voice prompts to listen to your messages
Via Email (Voicemail-to-Email)
If you've enabled voicemail-to-email notifications in your account settings:
- Check your email inbox
- Look for emails from "Brisco Voicemail" with the subject "New Voicemail Message"
- Open the email to view message details and access the attached audio file
- Click on the audio attachment to download and play the message
Via the Web Portal
- Visit portal.briscocom.com
- Log in with your account credentials
- Click on "Voicemail" in the navigation menu
- Your messages will be displayed, with the newest messages at the top
- Click the play button next to any message to listen
Voicemail Main Menu Options
When accessing your voicemail by phone, the following options are available:
- 1 - Listen to new messages
- 2 - Listen to saved messages
- 3 - Advanced options
- 4 - Personal options (greetings, PIN, name)
- 0 - Mailbox options (notifications, message order)
- * - Help
- # - Exit voicemail system
While Listening to Messages
During message playback, you can use these controls:
- 1 - Rewind message by 3 seconds
- 2 - Pause/resume message playback
- 3 - Fast forward message by 3 seconds
- 4 - Play previous message
- 5 - Replay current message
- 6 - Play next message
- 7 - Delete message
- 8 - Forward message to another extension
- 9 - Save message
- 0 - Message information (date, time, caller ID)
- * - Return to main menu
Changing Your Voicemail Greeting
You can record multiple greetings for different scenarios:
- Access your voicemail system
- Press 4 for personal options
- Press 1 to record greetings
- Choose the greeting type:
- 1 - Default greeting
- 2 - Busy greeting (played when your line is busy)
- 3 - Away/Unavailable greeting
- 4 - Extended away greeting
- Follow the prompts to record and save your new greeting
Changing Your Voicemail PIN
- Access your voicemail system
- Press 4 for personal options
- Press 3 to change your PIN
- Enter your new PIN (minimum 4 digits) followed by the # key
- Confirm your new PIN by entering it again
Setting Up Voicemail-to-Email
To receive your voicemail messages as email attachments:
- Log in to the web portal at portal.briscocom.com
- Go to "Voicemail Settings"
- Enable the "Send to Email" option
- Enter the email address where you want to receive your voicemail messages
- Select whether to keep or delete messages from the phone system after they're emailed
- Save your changes
Troubleshooting
Forgot Voicemail PIN
If you've forgotten your voicemail PIN:
- Log in to the web portal
- Go to "Voicemail Settings"
- Click "Reset PIN"
- A temporary PIN will be sent to your email address
- Use this temporary PIN to access your voicemail and set a new PIN
Messages Not Showing Up in Email
If you're not receiving voicemail messages in your email:
- Check your spam/junk folder
- Verify your email address is correct in the web portal
- Ensure your email provider isn't blocking messages from our server
- Add "voicemail@briscocom.com" to your safe senders list
